Every part of the process is equally crucial. From consultation, to pre-shoot, to session itself, ordering and sales. During the session we use 2-3 outfit changes and pick different sets and lightning that would work best with the particular clothing and idea we try to convey. It is important to think about each step that is involved in getting all the parts together so the final product is perfect. Would the image be a part of the book or composite? Would it be a wall print or a wallet size, etc.? And what good would it be to put in all this hard work into the image without it being rewarded properly or let your photos go out of the door for a minimum fee? We always encourage to work smarter, not harder.
Nathan Ham has been a full-time photographer since 1983. He started out in his parent’s garage, than relocated to a 800 sq.ft. spacing in a strip mall. In 1990 his studio moved to historical 1871 church. After renovations and attaching additional buildings, it reaches 13,000sq.ft. His career started in advertising, then transitioned to portraits. Now, Nathan Ham is working in all types of photography, except weddings. He stopped doing those after having his children, at age 42 and 44. Nathan Ham has a wide clientele. He is known for his family portraits, commercial photography, photos of children and seniors. He has shot 9 models for Playboy magazine, and boudoir shoots are still part of his work. His landscape photography travels are a huge blast! Shopping for antiques is his favorite way to past time and a great way to find wonderful props, that feel real. Quality images are still important to many people and his studio sells exactly that. Prints that he creates are a piece of art that clients will cherish for years as they hang in their homes.
